Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure optimum equipment integrity and reliability through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance approaches.

Develop, review, and continuously improve maintenance and inspection programmes for electrical equipment and installations, supporting Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives.

Establish and maintain site electrical safety procedures and practices, including competency assessments, training, and authorization of personnel working on electrical systems.

Monitor, analyse, and improve the performance of electrical equipment, developing strategies to meet reliability and operational targets.

Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and defect elimination initiatives to address bad actors and improve equipment performance.

Champion and lead the Multi-Discipline Reliability Team (MDRT), driving stakeholder engagement, action plans, and KPI achievement.

Optimise in-house power generation and electrical energy usage to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Review and approve electrical drawings for construction and project execution.

Provide technical advisory support for projects and Major Turnaround (MTA) activities.
-
Support Contracting & Procurement (CP) processes, including review of PEFS and technical evaluations.

Act as Contract Holder for electrical-related services, ensuring contractor performance and delivery of contract value.

Participate in a 24-hour on-call duty roster on a rotational basis.

Promote Electrical Safety and “Barrier Thinking” culture through training, HSSE initiatives, and awareness programmes.

Develop competency and capability of electrical personnel through structured training and development programmes.

Operate and maintain 132kV electrical network systems safely, liaising with TNB National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) to ensure reliable power supply management.

Approve deviations from standard design when alternative solutions meet technical requirements and provide cost benefits.

Train staff and operators on electrical standards, equipment, safety practices, and latest engineering guidelines.

Maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders such as TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, and operating companies.
